High Energy Beam-beam Effects in Clic
نویسنده
چکیده
In order to achieve high luminosity, the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) has to be operated in the highbeamstrahlung regime at centre-of-mass energies in the few TeV range. Beam-beam effects for this case are simulated. The dependence of luminosity, luminosity spectrum and background conditions on the different beam parameters is investigated. In particular the effect of beam size, waist shift and offsets are considered; as well as the background due to beamstrahlung and secondary electro-magnetic and hadronic processes.

Requirements of a Beam Loss Monitoring System for the Clic Two Beammodules
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) study investigates the feasibility of a high-energy electron-positron linear collider optimized for a centre of mass energy of 3 TeV. To achieve the high accelerating gradients, the RF power is produced by a novel two-beam acceleration method in which a decelerating drive beam supplies energy to the main accelerating beam. The linacs are arranged in modular st...
متن کاملGeV CLIC γγ Collider Based on it’s Drive Beam FEL
CLIC is a linear ee (γγ) collider project which uses a drive beam to accelerate the main beam. The drive beam provides RF power for each corresponding unit of the main linac through energy extracting RF structures. CLIC has a wide range of center-of-mass energy options from 150 GeV to 3 TeV. The present paper contains optimization of Free Electron Laser (FEL) using one bunch of CLIC drive beam ...
متن کاملDevelopment of a Beam Loss Detection System for the CLIC Test Facility 3
The CLIC test facility 3 (CTF3) provides a 3.5A, 1.6μs electron beam pulse of 150MeV at the end of the linac. The average beam power is 4 kW. Beam losses will be monitored all along the linac in order to keep the radiation level as low as possible. The heavy beam loading of the linac can lead to time transients of beam position, size and energy along the pulse. To compensate for these transient...
متن کاملRequirements of Clic Beam Loss Monitoring System
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) [1] is a proposed multi-TeV linear electron-positron collider being designed by a world-wide collaboration. It is based on a novel twobeam acceleration scheme in which two beams (drive and main beam) are placed in parallel to each other and energy is transferred from the drive beam to the main one. Beam losses on either of them can have catastrophic consequenc...

Procedures for correcting the beam-beam effects in luminosity measurement at CLIC at 3 TeV CM energy are described and tested using Monte Carlo simulations: • Correction of the angular counting loss due to the combined Beamstrahlung and initial-state radiation (ISR) effects, based on the reconstructed velocity of the collision frame of the Bhabha scattering. • Deconvolution of the luminosity sp...
